On his fifth album, Courage, Mamadou Diabate carves out a new direction. A departure from the traditional melodies on his previous album, these contemporary pieces highlight his versatility as a composer and affirm his place as one of the finest kora players living in the world today. Courage features Mamadou accompanied by an ensemble of follow Malian musicians, Abou Sissoko (ngoni), Lansana Fode Diabaté (balaphon), Adama Diarra (calabash/djembe) and his American bass player Noah Jarrett. Recorded in 2009 at Studio Bogolan in Bamako, Mali.

Douga Mansa (World Village 2008)

Mamadou third World Village album, Douga Mansa features artful and eloquent kora performance at its best. In 2009 'Douga Mansa' won the Grammy Award for Best Traditional World Music Album.

Strings Tradition (Felmay 2008)

This album is a collaboration between Malian and Indian musicians. In Strings Tradition Mamadou Diabate performs with Sitar player Ustad Shujaat Khan and violinist Lalgudi GJR Krishnan. Nyanafi means "I miss you" in Manding, and Sigui Dyarra is when you have a wonderful time in a new place.
